Organise Media with Library Folders
It would be amazing if the Kadence theme could provide a way to organize the Media Library like https://wordpress.org/plugins/media-library-plus/ or https://wordpress.org/plugins/filebird/ and similar plug-ins. I have seen this in the Semplice theme and it is really a helpful way to structure all your images into folders and subfolders.
Essential features:
-
Virtual folders
It should be virtual folders to organize media files without affecting permalink structures. Subfolders are almost necessary too.
-
Improved search
The ability to search by metadata and filter by file type to quickly locate specific media files.
-
Bulk edits
Bulk actions such as renaming, categorizing, and deleting.
-
Tags and categories
Custom tags and categories to organize media files by project, topic, or type
Semi-essential feature:
-
File renaming/replacing
Clients tend to upload images without giving it a second thought, resulting in a lot of random named images that they want to rename later
Another problem is that the already embedded images in posts/pages or even code, needs to be updated as well. This is where either Kadence AI or a similar setup could come into play. Wordpress has a feature that notes where images are embedded, but that is not always fully working. It would be awesome if either the images actually are connected to posts (not sure how to do this with embedded code or in CSS stylesheets but perhaps a variable can be made for this?
If the replacing of an image won’t change the structure of the permalink, this would not be so harmfull for SEO
Get rid of the cache that is currently into place that adds numbering to images or update the refresh rate of that cache to not set for a whole day. Right now whenever I upload image.jpg, remove it, and re-upload another image.jpg it automatically gets a image-1.jpg because Wordpress’ cache still thinks it exists.
Nice-to-have features:
-
Custom icons and colors for folders
The ability to add custom icons and colors for folders
-
Permissions
User role-based access control and password protection
-
Media check
Upon SVG/Lottie upload, a check if the code is sanitized as with the current SVG upload?
-
Integration with Cloud storage/CDN
Integrating with cloud storage and/or CDNs such as Cloudflare, Dropbox, Google Drive etc.
-
Accessibility Features
Reminders to set alt texts and other media accessibility checkers to remind users to add them for the sake of being accessible.
-
Lottie/SVG’s
Place uploaded Lottie/SVG’s in their respective folders inside that Media Library.
-
Export
Being able to export the entire Media Library including those folder for back-up
-
Media Library display on front-end
Being able to display the Media Library (or certain folders) on the front-end to have a nice looking file management system.
This would make a great and powerful feature to enhance the Kadence Products even more!
